"In the background the shadows help the swarm silently mainly dealing the hauling of resources, although of our kind, the shadows seem to have their own society and culture along side the rest of the swarm."

"When a target is killed, a piece of the target body is cut off to become a effigy, this part is decorated in celebration of defeating an opponent, showing of the shadows abilities  the shadow dances around the effigy, this is one of the few times you are able to observe a shadow in the swarm."
